Edina is a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. the Edina Public School District consistently outperforms other school districts in the state academically, as well as in sports and the arts. Above is the cover of the 1999-2000 Edina Public Schools calendar. This and the bookmarks to the right were central elements in a campaign to promote parent and community awareness of the importance of reading in education. Each calendar spread featured a teacher's recommended book. The bookmarks had quotes about reading by famous writers and other prominent figures. Engravings and typographic elements from old textbooks were employed to give the campaign a cohesive, traditional, non-electronic tone.		This campaign received the "Golden Achievement Award", the highest award granted by the National School Public Relations Association, competing against schools from across the country.
